Inacom
A public institution, a legal entity empowered by the Ministry of Post and Telecommunications, endowed with financial management, administration and patrimonial autonomy.
Incumbent Operator
A legal entity which benefits from special privileges to provide basic telecommunications services, and is responsible, according to contractual conditions, for the establishment, management and exploration of infrastructures that integrate the basic telecommunication network, according to terms and conditions established by Law.Indirect Access

Information for Billing
Information on the use of the network of a PTO requested by another PTO, in order to allow the billing of provided telecommunication services. This includes information required to resolve claims and to make necessary adjustments.
Installation of Subscriber Network
Telecommunication installation made in a private property, connected or to be connected to the public network and composed by the equipment of the client.
INTELSAT (International Telecommunications Satellite)
Organization formed by sovereign states that wish to be part of it, co-owners of a global satellite communication system.
Interconnect
The connection between functionally compatible telecommunication networks, permitting users of the networks to communicate with each other or access the services which are available.
Interconnect Charges
Price charged by telecommunications operators for services provided to each other.
International Area
A geographical zone served by an international telephone exchange, which routes all international traffic originating or terminating in that zone.
Interconnecting Charge
Price paid for the use of the network, related to the interconnection service, that is, the origination, termination and transit of the traffic.
Interconnection Point
Point in the network where interconnection is offered, constituted by the element of a network used as incoming or outgoing point for the traffic routed in the interconnection with the other network. The interconnection point is the reference point for the definition of the rights and responsibilities of each of the contracting parties of the interconnection.
Interconnection Point of Presence
Network element used as remote access for an Interconnection Point, becoming the reference point for the definition of rights and responsibilities of each of the contracting parties of the interconnection.
Interconnection Provider
The PTO asked by another PTO to provide interconnection with its network, for access to its clients and/or other facilities.
Interconnection Service
Service provided by a interconnection provider so that another PTO connected to it can access its clients’ database or other facilities for interconnection purposes.
International Circuit
Circuit used to interconnect one or several national transit telephone exchanges with networks located outside the country.
International Gateway
Infrastructure consisting in international transmission means, commuting and network management, which works as point of entrance and exit from Angola, for the traffic between the network of a national PTO and end-points located outside Angola.
International Telephone Service (or International Long Distance)
Telephone service provided through commuted telephone networks, fixed or mobile, between fixed or mobile end-points located in the national territory and fixed or mobile end-points located abroad.
Internet
Communication service that allows the user to receive and send data.
Inter-connection Agreement
Agreement made between two telecommunication operators to guarantee the efficient interoperation of their networks.
Interconnection Charge
Fee paid by a PTO to another PTO interconnected to it, for the access to its clients or other facilities. These are charged by the interconnected PTO for initiating, terminating and/or transiting of all types of traffic proceeding from the interconnection.
Interconnection Offer
A standard document of a PTO in which the conditions and prices for interconnection to its network are described.
Interconnection Switch
Switch with an interconnection point.
Interoperability
The functional capacity of a group of interconnected networks, allowing the provision of telecommunication services between terminal equipment connected to any of the networks, in an efficient, consistent and foreseeable way.
Inter-urban Cable
Telecommunication cable that connects telephone exchanges in different cities.
Inter-urban Switched Fixed Telephone Service (or National Long Distance)
Switched fixed telephone service provided between fixed end-points located in different Local Areas within the country.
ISDN (Integrated Services Digital Network)
Worldwide network of electronic communication developed from the existent telecommunication services. The aim of ISDN is to replace the current telephone lines, which require the conversion of a digital signal into an analogue signal, by totally digital switching and transmission facilities, able to carry voice, computer, music and video data.
